TORROJA DEL PRIORAT

The slate-based soil, locally known as Licorella, and the harsh climate with sharp thermal fluctuations between day and night, provide a very low yield of grapes grown on steep slopes (Costers) and terraces. The region’s main grapes are Samsó (Carignan) and Garnaxa Negra (red Grenache), often blended with international grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah and Merlot.
